Spyros Kalathas
the founder of the company
After many years of experience in agricultural production, in extensive (open-field) crops, and recognizing the market’s lack of high-quality vegetable products, Spyros Kalathas decided to turn to greenhouse cultivation.
Thus, in 1985, he established his first greenhouse unit with the aim of producing vegetable products with superior characteristics.
He is engaged in the cultivation of tomatoes and cucumbers.
Over the years, following continuous involvement in production and ongoing research, in 1993 he installed one of the FIRST hydroponic systems in Greece, pioneering for its time.
Since then, by applying both innovative techniques and his own specialized practices, he has specialized in the production of hydroponically grown tomatoes and cucumbers of EXCELLENT quality under the brand name “Kalatha.”
In recent years, he has been cultivating exclusively cucumbers in all the greenhouses.
All these years, his companion in greenhouse cultivation has been his wife, Niki.
Marinela Kalatha
Second generation
From the beginning, the whole family has been involved in the business.
In recent years, his daughter Marinela, an Agricultural Technologist, has taken over the scientific supervision. She continues as the SECOND GENERATION, aiming for the continuous development of the business by combining long-standing family experience with modern production standards.
Our goal is to provide consumers with high-quality products of exceptional taste so taht they can ENJOY what they eat.
